Submitted by Joyce Parvi on

A poster created by UW Linguistics PhD candidate Valerie Freeman has been selected by the Acoustical Society of America and by the American Institute of Physics to be featured in a press release.  The poster project, entitled "Phonetic correlates of stance-taking," by Valerie Freeman, Richard Wright, Gina-Anne Levow, Yi Luan, Julian Chan, Trang Tran, Victoria Zayats, Maria Antoniak and Mari Ostendorf, is one of only a few to be chosen from more than a thousand presentations across all fields. Ms. Freeman presented the poster at the 168th Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA), which was held October 27-31 at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown Hotel.
