We are very thankful for the generosity of our alumni and friends who contribute to Linguistics endowments and current support funds, expanding our many program activities and enhancing student experiences. You can donate directly through the links provided below.
Current-use Funds
Current-use gift funds, such as Friends of Linguistics and American Sign Language Fund, are available for the Department’s immediate use with maximum flexibility. At the Chair’s discretion, funding is directed to research and teaching activities that serve our Linguistic community at the university, as well as local and international communities.
Endowments
Donations to endowed funds build the fund principal and continue its legacy over time. If you prefer to contribute through Donor Advised Funds, stocks, IRA, etc., please contact Kate Cescon at kamort@uw.edu or 206-616-5943. For more on the role of endowments at UW, see this brochure from the College of Arts & Sciences.
Matching Volunteer Hours
Does your employer match volunteer hours with donations through Benevity? If you volunteer and would like the match to be directed to Linguistics, please include a comment in Benevity that your match should be directed to UW Foundation/Linguistics and email linguw@uw.edu with the name of your employer so we can get the funds properly directed on the UW’s end. Any matched funds will be directed to the Friends of Linguistics Fund and used wherever they are most needed.
In Memoriam Donations
If you would like to make an in-memoriam donation, you can donate to any of the funds listed below and indicate that it is an in-memoriam donation.
