Linguistic factors-Human Adaptation to Perceptual Distortion Phonetics Lab Projects |
varies depending on experience / interest. Possible tasks include: acoustic measurements in Praat, Praat scripting, speech synthesis, running subjects in perception experiments, data analysis (preferably using R). | Ling 453 | basic familiarity with Praat is required. Statistical training, programming and/or scripting ability is a plus. Familiarity with dialectal variation in North American English might be helpful. Coursework in auditory perception also helpful but not required. |
