Sunny Ananthanarayan was awarded the Lewis & Clark Fund for Exploration and Field Research grant for their work with the Panãra Indigenous community in central Brazil continues with contributions to documenting and archiving cultural and linguistic practices for the community. Their research has so far involved work on Panãra verbal morphology, as well as examining the intersections of sociolinguistics, historical linguistics, and synchronic language description as applied to Panãra.
