TOPICS IN JAPANESE SEMANTICS WE SHALL DISCUSS A NUMBER OF TOPICS JAPANESE SEMANTICS IN THIS SEMINAR. THE TOPICS DEAL WITH TENSE ASPECT, ATTITUDES, AND PREDICATION. THEY ARE AMONG THE TOPICS THE INSTRUCTOR HAS WORKED ON. THE READING MATERIALS INCLUDE PUBLICATIONS BY THE INSTRUCTOR AND OTHER RESEARCHERS, AND THE COURSE DISCUSS SOME POSSIBLE NEW RESEARCH QUESTIONS THAT EMERGE FROM THE PAST RESEARCH RESULTS.

Advanced study in current theories of syntax, semantics, phonology, or morphology. Can be repeated for credit.
