THIS SEMINAR WILL INVESTIGATE THE DISPLACEMENT OF LINGUISTIC FOCI IN VARIETY OF DIVERSE LANGUAGES. STUDE WILL COMPARE AND CRITICALLY EVALUAT DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES ON WHAT MOTI FOCUS DISPLACEMENT, INCLUDING SYNTA PHONOLOGICAL, AND PROCESSING EXPLANATIONS.

Advanced study in current theories of syntax, semantics, phonology, or morphology. Can be repeated for credit.
